HMMMMM.... Possibly. The OP did not say if the bird was in-flight. That would rule out Big Bird. In fact there is a song that extols the virtues of the magnificent yellow one. The song goes on to mention that BB cannot fly. It is set to the tune of one of my childhood faves "Big Girls Don't Cry"

I am thinking yellow warbler, but other possibilities. It would be a good idea for you to pick up a copy of Peterson's Birds of Eastern America. You could get a copy that is used for not much money.

I’d say depending on he size, either twittie or big bird...Then again it could be a yellow bellied sap sucker...
