My wife raises orchids. When they've done blooming for a while, she puts them on our (enclosed) front porch to 'rest' for a while. This one didn't know it was supposed to be resting.

Thanks! My wife claims the secret is picking the ones that are easy to grow. Cymbidiums are the most forgiving. It helps that we have a mild climate.

It would be hard to miss. It's a pleasure stepping onto the front porch the last few days. My wife's the orchid grower, so I'll take your word on the genus. Thanks for looking!

Thanks. The sight that made me drop what I was doing and grab the camera was the outside light shining through the flower. Of course, you can't really tell that from the photo, but I think it informs the colors.
