Turkish fighter jets? Russian Navy?

So it looks like the Democrat National Convention included a patriotic backdrop to some speeches with the Russian Navy, and now with Turkish fighter jets.

There are at least two observations to be made from this.

First, if the Republicans had made these mistakes, the press would have been merciless in their ridicule and condemnation. Why not with the Democrats?

Second, are the Democrats trying to send the populace some kind of subliminal message?

If you are so "crazy" as to be disturbed by seeing Russian vodka in a store, or Turkish coffee in a restaurant... well there are greater issues in this world.... stop just looking at the pictures and read the text... grasping at straws... simply that... grow up... be an American and be ashamed of a party that is trying to win by limiting the voting rights of the poor and elderly.... what an embarrassment the extreme right wing religious zealots and "Republican/American Taliban" are.... many countries make voting mandatory and expect the citizens to vote... we in contrast block the votes of too many...

Actually I wasn't so "crazy" as to be disturbed by these images. I was pointing out the double standard used by the media in reporting political events.

Those who think that the Republicans are trying to limit the voting rights of the poor and elderly obviously have their heads in the sand. No one's rights are being abridged in the request for the same level of identification that is required to cash a check or ride on an airplane.

The real threat is the profligate spending financed by uncollateralized debt, and the real embarrassment will be when the creditors realize that we can not pay that debt.

If your avatar is YOUR picture, May I assume you are a senior citizen? And IF SO may I respectfully ask how long you have been a democrat? Surely a gentleman in this age group must have learned to seriously consider the real facts as opposed to "claims" in real life situations. Why not in political campaigns, as well? Promises made to win votes are seldom kept for numerous reasons, not the least of which is the nature of politics. The politician's obviously correct assumptiion that large numbers of voters are either not so smart, or selfishly motivated by the "me" generation outlook, OR BOTH, justify such offers for that very reason!!! Therefore, reasonably intelligent Americans must seperate those issues from what is in the best interest of our country. Questionable politics aside, we MUST choose the higher path...or there will be no America as we have known it for hundred of years. The vote purely on a PARTY basis custom has changed over past decades as have most of the human, technological and socioeconomical development of nations, in dealing with each other. The need for realistic forward looking voter populations is now critical to our survival as a free nation. So is the need to return to our founding faith in the almighty to guide us into the future!

Jusoljoe, yes, joe we both want the best for our country and want non reactionary, more deliberative government. How long have I been a Democrat? Well, registered independent, vote mixed ticket often, of course in Florida the ballots are so designed that one may do that unintentionally (Jews in Dade voting for right wing Baptist... butterfly ballot)

In the past, I have voted for Republican Presidents, Ike, Nixon, did a lot of good and got my vote. Agree with you voting for the populous has become a football game this team or the other regardless ... like UofM vs Mich State...

I wish us as a country good luck... and time to get the hell out of the wars of profit for the munition makers that has drained the treasury and maned so many...

May I complement your writing style and polite approach to persuasion. And How long have you been a Republican... er aaa this is not my grandpa's Republican party!!

PrairieSeasons..said "The real threat is the profligate spending financed by un-collateralize debt, and the real embarrassment will be when the creditors realize that we can not pay that debt. "

Perhaps we need to invade ourselves and declare we are a new country and declare that the USA debt is not that of Fooznia the conquers of the old USA. Sake the accounting Etch-a-Sketch and start over. Then invite Christina-Fernandez-de'Kitchner to be the ruler for 10 years and limit the term of congressmen/senate.... Christina besides being beautiful if highly effective as a leader.

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.

Ouch, Buddy 36, how much munitions do we sell to foreign countries.. indeed the world is dangerous, even some neighborhoods are dangerous!!

Regarding the mid east riots... I think Fox was using some stock footage,,, when the guy said in clear English "Kant we all just getalong?"

When people have been corked for a long time it is like soda, de-cork and they will explode at any excuse.

She maybe be pretty but corrupt. She and her husband's net worth climbed 572% since taking office. Officials not yet under her thumb say the financial information she and her husband submitted don't add up. She is also an ally of Hugo Chavez. What is it about you non-conservatives that make you so admiring of commie dictators and associated wannabes? Freedom is not important as long as you agree with those in power?

And come on. "Republican/American Taliban" Really? I thought you were better than that.

Thanks for the humor. No one in their right mind could POSSIBLY think Rush Limbaugh has ANY credence as a commentator. Thanks for giving me a chuckle.
