Once I got to school early and took down the calendar in my classroom and replaced it with sheet of poster board with 5 of the little packets of Mayonnaise glued to it. Only about one or two students in each class caught on to it without a prompt from someone else.
And this was a high school in East Los Angeles (Latino area with 95%+ Mexican & Mexican American at the time).

Most people don’t know that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York.
This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost.
The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.

I always like to think of 5 May as Winfield Scott day. General Scott (a US General) was Governor of Mexico after the Mexican war.

The wife went off to get food from our favorite Mexican place. She hadn't driven her car in almost two weeks and it barely started. She has been driving my SUV that was "too big" when I got it and drove around a while to charge her battery. While driving she forgot all about calling in our order for pickup. She gets there and finds a line into the parking lot - 2 1/2 hour wait to order and pickup. We got Farmer Boys fish dinner instead. I was looking forward to that Carnitas Combo Plate. Tomorrow I call it in and she or our son will just do a pickup - I still want Carnitas!

Now how did you jump from her forgetting to call ahead to calling while driving?
She also parked in prime Pokemon Go territory with the car idling for a while before she got there - neither of us is in the habit of using our phones while actually driving. And she called to make sure they were open before she left so I thought she had ordered at the same time and was just doing a pickup.

No jumping - we call before anyone leaves and we know both it has been done.
