Finally a bit of normality again.

The worldwide Covid numbers don’t come close to this even if you extrapolate to a full year.
I would hesitate to base anything on the "worldwide Covid numbers" as they are not believable. And likely never will be. Does anyone think China, Iran, Russia, India, North Korea, etc. are reporting honestly? And they comprise what percentage of the world's population?

Did you wear a mask and keep 6 feet away from everyone? Did you really? If not, your an idiot. If you did, good for you.
No I did not, nor will I ever, I'm not walking around looking like a f... clown, no I will never wear a f... mask!

My wife had several masks left over from her brush with Aplastic Anemia, then my sister sent us four she had made. Even my wife - who feels foolish in one - wore one while shopping last week. One of the grocery stores in our area requires them, and it is just a good idea for us {we are both over 65 now}.
I would correct your line that most people use 1 ball. I worked with an organization of 3 million bowlers and many of them would drive to the national championship because they didn't know which of their 12-15 balls would work on the specific surfaces. (who knew???) I was shocked. It is quite amazing. The National Championship Tournament had a ball transport program set up for those who were flying, but needed to ship their balls to the stadium site. I used to ask these people how many they were sending ahead. The average was carry 2 on the plane and ship 6 to the site.
I've only used 1 ball when playing but most of the people I know who are serious league players use 2-3 balls. Bowling is more addictive than many drugs. I would compare the obsession with golf because we golfers are always changing out clubs, modifying them to fit our needs and spending who knows how much on golf shoes. (I have to admit, I have 124 pair of golf shoes)
I can't imagine why anyone would be embarrassed wearing a mask when SO MANY are wearing them now. It's not like you would stand out. You'd look more like a plastic, cold and stiff clown lying in a casket.

It is not rocket science.
1. The masks we are asked to wear, not being N-95, do not protect us, but rather protect those around us.
2. Because Covid-19 can be asymptomatic, a person who feels well may still be contagious and spread the disease to others around them.
3. People are therefore asked to wear a mask when going out in public, to protect those around them.
4. A person who refuses to wear a mask in public places, especially if distancing may be difficult, is putting themselves, their happiness, their comfort, their concept of "freedoms" and "rights", above the well-being of others.
