CHG_CANON, Your posters are much lit those in WW2. In WW2 there was a gold star in the window of people who lost a family member. When the tallie is done and the foolish things that Trump has done to muddle our nation's response it should be curtains for Trump's Reelection... but will it?

Just a note re the title of the thread: CV-19 was an Essex Class aircraft carrier, the USS Hancock.

Sadly to say, the mayor of New York City also has played a very foolish part to muddy the waters https://www.yahoo.com/news/the-mistakes-that-turned-new-york-into-an-epicenter-of-the-coronavirus-epidemic-090040375.html

I'm no fan of Mayor DeBlasio and there certainly were more things that could have been done, but the story leads with his tweet of March 2 and that is becoming a touchstone for his actions. On March 2 no one in New York City was fretting about coronavirus. On that day I met with some 20 former co-workers for a lunch where there was plenty of hand shaking and hugging. Not once did the coronavirus come up even though almost all of us worked in news or sports for over twenty years. When I left there I went to my appointment at the VA Hospital in NYC where no one was mentioning anything about procedures to ward off infection.

By the end of that week all of NYC was being mobilized. That's how quickly the situation changed. Now we know, in retrospect, that in the two or so months preceding that, some hundreds, maybe thousands, of full flights from Europe landed at NYC airports. At that early date no one suspected that the virus would get to NYC via Europe as everyone was focused on China. The virus was well established here before anyone knew enough to take protective measures.

Thank you bw79st! Someone mentioned the Hancock last time for 'CV-19', but not an explanation and I missed the reference.
