I have a Canon 6D Mark ll and the 600EXll-RT flash. I was looking to use the flash off camera remotely.
The Canon ST-E3-RT trigger is $285 at B&H, which is a bit expensive. I was looking at the Godox X Pro C TTL trigger, but it is only a transmitter and requires the purchase of the Good X1 R-C TTL receiver the work. It looks like the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT could be a possible one piece equipment answer. Anybody familiar with this setup goal and the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT? Is the Canon ST-E3-RT the best/only solution? I would be interested in other solutions/options.

Thanks for responding and I did check the B&H web. The Yongnuo got great reviews! Looks like a good answer.

I do not use TTL, so I don't have the YN-E3-RT, but I do have and use the YN560-TX with the YN560-III flash units. (Totally manual flash, and NO HSS) I shoot portraits mostly on a professional basis, and I have used this setup for about 3yrs. I have really used it a lot and I have "NEVER HAD IT FAIL". The YN560-TX transmitter on the camera can operate 18 flash units at the same time. (6 Chan. x 3 Units/Chan.) The YN560-lll flash units have a "Built IN" receiver. You can control the: "Turn ea.units On-Off, Zoom, Mode, Power & more of each of the possible 18 flash units individually.
I have, and my assistant has "DROPPED" a Flash unit on a few occasions, and other than a few scratches, they were fine. Another thing about this setup that is worth noting is that I have tried out the 100yd. distance claim by the manufacturer, and found that they responded perfectly at "OVER 100yds."!
I have 8 of these flashes and 2 of the Transmitters. I find them "Bullet Proof"!!! (IMO) And they are inexpensive! Just be sure to order the one for Canon.
I hope this helps, and if you get the YN-E3-RT unit, I would expect the same results.
Have a good day! Thanks,
Boone.
Thanks for your response. Yes, it looks like the Yongnuo is a good choice.

Here is the Cactus transceiver I mentioned previously.
https://www.cactus-image.com/v6.htmlI would certainly take a look at this. Another member recommended it.
“ The Cactus V6 is the World’s First wireless flash trigger that works ON ANY CAMERA (with a standard hot shoe or PC Sync port) to control power output, wirelessly, of Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic’s system flashes ALL AT THE SAME TIME.”

I have the Yongnuo YN 560 Controller and about 4 YONGNUO RF-603C-II-C3s all in at about $100 and they work perfectly, what may be an issue for you is that I have to manually set each flash, their newer gear may remote settings, but it is certainly a much better value than Canon's stuff.

After rereading the specs, I think you’ll still need a Cactus receiver on the flash, but you could use Canon, Nikon, and Olympus flash all on the same system.
Thanks for responding, but the Cactus V6 ll needs to have a separate receiver put on the Canon 600 flash.
Thanks, but I was looking for one unit that didn't require a separate receiver.

I've tried several non-Canon transmitters but none of them worked with my 6d and R. I had to bite the bullet and invest in the Canon transmitter. Expensive but a sound investment. Good luck with any non Canon transmitter though.

Thanks for all your help. I did read that the Yongnuo YN-E3-RT will work nicely with the Canon 6D mark ll camera & 600 flash without requiring an additional receiver. The cost is $81 at B&H. Thanks again.

I use Yongnuo on 3 different Canon bodies, 5DMKIV, 5DSR, and the EOS R, never had a problem.
I have the canon remote and 3 600 Speedlites and find it works flawlessly. The canon controls and capabilities are the same on all. I find it worth the money to me. Your mileage may vary.
