Then Pentax is just the brand for you. After a foray into a MILC line, they apparently decided “this is not for us”.
It's all about options when I photograph different subject. for me it's not just about taking or making photographs it's also the experience that each camera gives me. I use older and newer Pentax bodies because the way they handle has changed and the two Panasonic, GH-4 G-95 bodies and glass is also some thing I can't get shooting with Pentax. The Panasonic bodies will not replace Pentax bodies, they will give me another option to use photography.

Is the K1 still available?
Check out B&H or Amazon or other online sellers. I checked and the K-1 is available from B&H for around $1800 body only.
I have owned Pentax since 1964, starting with an H3V with the clip-on exposure meter, continuing with a Spotmatic and switching to a K10 and than to an H3. Even the old H3V still works and all of them have given exemplary service. It is too bad that they are not being given any significant advertising and promotion. All of them are beautifully made and quite sturdy as evidenced by long life. Switch to other brands? Hell, no.
