I am not sure if the Butterfly is a Small White or some other white type. It looks different to those I find in my veg garden - this was in a local rape seed field and I had to crop it a lot.

I found the Gooseberry flowers really difficult, they are so tiny and detailed and they hide under the leaves somehow.

Thanks PixelStan77, I enjoy lots of posts from your side of the pond too. Always interesting to see different things.

Thanks Tom, this butterfly was shot at 300mm. with a 70-300 lens. I have seen quite a few Peacock butterflies but they seem jittery, I think this strong breeze unsettles them and also the flying insects. Can't wait until more insects start visiting my locality.

Great pictures! The butterfly might be a green veined white, but I have never seen one.
Hope you can get a peacock. Then you can share it with us and say 'we have peacock butterflies and you-oo do-on't'.
The wind does help in one way which is that while the subject is being jostled they are less able to detect you sneaking up on them with the camera.

Thanks Mark, I was wondering if it was a green veined butterfly but the green wasn't distinct, perhaps it was a young butterfly - I am happy to go with it being the green veined one. I have seen more Peacock butterflies this year than any other, about 10 or so - I think this may be a favoured area for them, we have loads of Rape seed fields in full bloom which may be an attractant. Keep safe.
