If Trump had not stopped air travel, we would be much worse off.

I am always amazed at the immaturity libs show. Your President has no clothes on? Grow up and act like an adult.

You get funnier as you reply to each post.

Chump closed air travel from china but let 40,000 people FROM China enter the country after he did so. It only takes one infected person to start the ball rolling.

And it's obvious you don't know or understand the metaphor of "The Emporer has no clothes".

Meaning: This expression is used to describe a situation in which people are afraid to criticize something or someone because the perceived wisdom of the masses is that the thing or person is good or important.

Notice the part where it states "people are afraid to criticize"...

As for losing out, that is only in your mind.

Just for the record, do you think Trump made no mistakes in how he handled the pandemic? You don't feel that there is anything he could have done better to reduce the spread and lower the infections and death count?

Here's what I think.

Spain, Italy, France, Germany, and the UK have a total population of about 324 Million. The US has 331 Million.

From yesterdays data;

Main EU has a combined 838,710 confirmed cases. The US has 830,789 cases. This equates to 0.26% and 0.25% infection percentage of the total population.

Main EU has 90,905 deaths due to COVID19 to date.
US has 45,638 deaths due to COVID19 to date.

There is zero news about why there are 2 EU deaths for 1 US death. Similar population sizes, nearly identical infection rate, yet you are twice as likely to die in the EU as here in the US.

Is that because the US has better healthcare? Yeah, probably so!
Is it because Trump, for all his faults, has done a better job than Boris, Marcon, Merkel, etc.? Also, probably so!

What could Trump have done better?

I don't know. Unless he had a crystal ball when we had 15 people infected and he locked down the country then....but that seems awfully EXTREME! Hindsight is 20/20 and you can't change the past no matter how good your rear view vision is.

The truth is that this virus was out there in late October/early November. The Chinese lied about human to human transmission. So did the W.H.O. Were it not for the Taiwanese, millions would be dead by now. The West coast has the Wuhan virus. The East coast has a European strain of the Wuhan virus. The genome of the virus proves this.

What to do moving forward? Try solving the problem instead of laying blame because if you are going for blame go after W.H.O, China, Cuomo, DeBlasio, Pelosi, mayor of New Orleans, etc., etc.

If you want to solve the problem start moving operations/companies out of China. It won't stop the next pandemic but it would solve the problem of PPE and critical medical equipment, drug manufacturing, etc.

Not saying China did or didn't lie. That's for the experts to determine at a later date and deal with.
But, I don't see any information indicating the virus was "out there" in Oct/Nov as you suggest.

“On December 26, the first patient we saw was an elderly lady who had fever, cough and trouble breathing.”

You can say (and probably will) that that is a lie but, it's neither here nor there at the moment.

As for "What more could chump have done"? WOW!

He was warned about the potential for a pandemic but that internal divisions, lack of planning and his faith in his own instincts led to a halting response.

Throughout January, as chump repeatedly played down the seriousness of the virus and focused on other issues, an array of figures inside his government — from top White House advisers to experts deep in the cabinet departments and intelligence agencies — identified the threat, sounded alarms and made clear the need for aggressive action.

He was slow to absorb the scale of the risk and to act accordingly, focusing instead on controlling the message, protecting gains in the economy, and batting away warnings from senior officials. It was a problem, he said, that had come out of nowhere and could not have been foreseen.

The shortcomings of chump’s performance have played out with remarkable transparency as part of his daily effort to dominate television screens and the national conversation.
But dozens of interviews with current and former officials and a review of emails and other records revealed many previously unreported details and a fuller picture of the roots and extent of his halting response as the deadly virus spread:

The National Security Council office responsible for tracking pandemics received intelligence reports in early January predicting the spread of the virus to the United States, and within weeks was raising options like keeping Americans home from work and shutting down cities the size of Chicago. Chump would avoid such steps until March.

Despite Mr. Trump’s denial weeks later, he was told at the time about a Jan. 29 memo produced by his trade adviser, Peter Navarro, laying out in striking detail the potential risks of a coronavirus pandemic: as many as half a million deaths and trillions of dollars in economic losses.

The health and human services secretary, Alex M. Azar II, directly warned chump of the possibility of a pandemic during a call on Jan. 30, the second warning he delivered to the president about the virus in two weeks. The president, who was on Air Force One while traveling for appearances in the Midwest, responded that Mr. Azar was being alarmist.

Mr. Azar publicly announced in February that the government was establishing a “surveillance” system in five American cities to measure the spread of the virus and enable experts to project the next hot spots. It was delayed for weeks. The slow start of that plan, on top of the well-documented failures to develop the nation’s testing capacity, left administration officials with almost no insight into how rapidly the virus was spreading. “We were flying the plane with no instruments,” one official said.

By the third week in February, the administration’s top public health experts concluded they should recommend to Mr. Trump a new approach that would include warning the American people of the risks and urging steps like social distancing and staying home from work. But the White House focused instead on messaging and crucial additional weeks went by before their views were reluctantly accepted by the president — time when the virus spread largely unimpeded.

When chump finally agreed in mid-March to recommend social distancing across the country, effectively bringing much of the economy to a halt, he seemed shellshocked and deflated to some of his closest associates. One described him as “subdued” and “baffled” by how the crisis had played out. An economy that he had wagered his re-election on was suddenly in shambles.
He only regained his swagger, the associate said, from conducting his daily White House briefings, at which he often seeks to rewrite the history of the past several months. He declared at one point that he “felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic,” and insisted at another that he had to be a “cheerleader for the country,” as if that explained why he failed to prepare the public for what was coming.

How about for starters, instead of saying "It's the flu, it will go away in April when the weather gets warm", he "actually listened" to his own "experts" then publicly announce that he would do whatever was in his power to assist the country in fighting this virus?

A leader doesn't lead by declaring themself a genius, making fun of handicapped people, always blaming others for his failures, and ignoring FACTS that end up killing thousands of people.

“I’m mad that our government didn’t act sooner.” I’ve seen that on quite a few posts, a thinly veiled accusation that Trump didn’t act quickly enough. Well I’m mad too.

I’m mad that Pelosi and the U.S. House wasted close to 3 months pursuing an obviously futile impeachment of the President.

I’m mad that Pelosi sat on those very impeachment papers for 28 days before sending them on to the Senate.

I’m mad that the Senate was shut down for 21 days in January and early February dealing with Pelosi’s impeachment, thereby leaving Trump to deal with Covid alone, with no support from either the House or Senate.

I’m mad that the day the President closed travel to and from China, Chuck Schumer declared the action “racist.”

I’m mad that 28 days after the travel restriction, Nancy Pelosi, downplaying the severity of the virus, begged people to visit Chinatown in San Francisco, again playing the race card.

I’m mad that Pelosi swooped in at the last hour of the stimulus package, adding things that were pure politics and had nothing to do with the dire circumstances at hand.

I’m mad that the Obama administration didn’t replenish the National Medical stockpile of masks after the SARS and H1N1 virus outbreak.

I’m mad that there are top doctors and experts in many fields having to waste their time at daily press briefings just so the “media” can pester them with gotcha questions that they think might be their ticket to a Pulitzer.

I’m mad that Pelosi is now talking about an investigation into Trump’s handling of the Covid crisis.

Every day, every turn, every word, every breath since before he was elected, President Trump has been attacked, mocked, accused and belittled by Pelosi and her gang. (And don’t even get me started on the media.)

So there it is. I’m mad as hell that our country is going through this and the petty bickering from the left won’t even stop for people dying and our economy imploding.

Hey Nancy, why don’t you man up and stand side by side with the President to work through this mess? American citizens need to see Washington working together and you’re infuriatingly absent.

OK but, the Democrats don't have anyone who is so ready to degrade others, make fun of others, call others names or fire others simply because they disagree with each other.
