With lots of time on my hands, I am sorting through old photos of my northern India trip of 2017. While I originally processed over 250 images, I still had 3,000 set aside as being of unacceptable quality. This phot was shot in Udaipur, India at a 500 year old cemetery called a Cenotaph. When a local Maharaja died, his body was taken to the Ganges River for cremation. His family would bring the ashes back for interment in these temple like structures. I have a canvas printed shot hanging on the living room wall of this Cenotaph thinking it was the best I had. However, last night while I was searching for pictures to play with, I found this. I'm now looking for more wall space.
Great job. Mahalo for sharing.

Thanks for sharing. The download really pops!
Very fine shot. Fascinating architecture. Definitely needs to be downloaded to be fully appreciated.
From a social perspective, the Maharaja's sumptuous final resting place must have made all those untouchables who sweat blood to build, it right proud.

Virtually every culture gives their rulers enhanced rituals and honors in their burial ceremonies. The architects and labors who worked on these projects benefitted by being compensated for their work even though it may have been meager compensation. I doubt the untouchables would have been allowed to work on this kind of project. India is still trying to get rid of the caste system.
Your search found a good image to play with.
Magnificent scene well captured and presented!!
If it was me I think I would have to print that with Fracture. They print on glass, and this picture would really pop on Fracture.

Some cultures kill the laborers afterward so the tomb won’t be looted.
