Although I am hosting a late afternoon Happy Hour on Zoom for my golf buddies, I find my connections derived rom my photo library to be something I am now looking forward to.
I have been focusing on B&W and thought I would like to share this image from Cologne, Germany taken in 2014. An old friend was taking us to a chocolate plant that was part of a large office complex. The location was on the Rhine River and consisted of a series of buildings, some residential, retail stores, offices and the chocolate factory. Underneath the complex was an enormous garage that might have been 1/2 mile long. This required a lot of ventilation and the there tubes you see were the HVAC system that extracted the stale air from the garage. The original color shot was pretty ho hum but when converted to color it was greatly improved.
I have decided to include an apartment building that was located in the same complex. I first processed this as a color photo and it was only 5 years later that I tried it in B&W. Let me know which you like best.
"I Need Air" is fantastic. It has a "other worldly" sense about it.
I really do not have a 'favorite' between the two apartment bldg. pictures - I like them both. But I do not really think of them as abstract, just very good pictures... pictures I missed! In 2018, we were in Cologne, and I took some snapshots of three similar, interesting buildings. You, however, took pictures. You have a good photographer's eye!
At the time, there was a traveling carnival also the Rhein, and I took some early morning shots that I'll post soon.
Thanks for posting.
Chuck
Great photos. Very well taken. I prefer the B&W apartment building, but I think the vignette is a bit too hard edged in the corners. I would soften it or maybe even eliminate it.

Glad you liked the photo. That was one composition that just jumped out at you.

I used the term "abstract" because I couldn't come up with a better one. Just saying apartment building didn't have any pizzaz. Also, thank you for your generous comment.

I'm inclined to just leave it alone. My pictures are for my own amusement and trying to fine tune as you might for a sale just doesn't seem to be worth the effort. Thanks for your comments.
Really nice work with the black and white, and that rendering has much more impact than the color version.
I really enjoy good black and white work.
In #1 is that a UFO over the left cylinder? Overall #1 really "sings". Nice.
Excellent series - well done!
Great architectural shots. I love the B&W rendition. The color in the last image is a distraction.
