Thank you and yes, the first two is the "Angel Oak" in danger of being cut down for a development.. (can you freakin' imagine!! That Live Oak is over 1500 years old).
The last was a Live Oak in the middle of a cemetery...a huge surprise for me!
Beautiful, as I can say I really don't have any tree's like that around here.

I was wandering about the first two. Wasn't sure. I learned something(he Angel Oak). What most interesting to me about the Live Oak is the variations you get between the states. In Florida the further south you go they get smaller. I guess because of the sand. In Mississippi where I grew up They grow(Crawl) out over the water and are called crawling oaks.
Usually the limbs are not as low to the ground in southern MS and Alabama as in South Carolina. Im really wanting to take some pictures and post them when I head back to MS again.
They do get this large on the MS and AL gulf coast. This is the second post I've seen on the Live Oak.
Thank you for the wonderful post.

Love the tree. Great shots.
Here's one of mind, it on the M.R.G.O.(Mississippi River Gulf Outlet) When ACOE built it over 50 years ago it killed all the oak trees. Many of the dead trees are still there.
It's very haunting.
campo's tree

Rachel, "haunting" is the right word... but so is "stunning"!
Awesome job with the B&W!

Thanks, I took that with my little nikon P&S with full sun. It's just a boring picture in color.
The B&W seem to get it something special.
So now you know, go find a dead tree tilde. :D

Nothing like yours, for sure... but there is a tender message in this one... for me, anyway.
These two trees have been around a while... and are still standing when the trees around them have been broken down by severe weather in the past couple of summers and winters.
I call this one "Possession" and it brings me great peace and security to re-visit them
I took this tree pic at dusk one evening.
Rachel You need to do some Cypress!
Nice pick
Hope you all like my Bermuda banyon trees!
In the park in our valley on Oahu, I have seen this line of trees along the south end of the park many times. On this particular day the light just sang "take my picture, please" and I could not resist.
Your pictures of the trees are beautiful and well-composed.
