I am begging the profi guys on this blog " Please do not take this as an insult"
Regardless of Corona, I am planning a trip and I want to be super light. I can use my mobil Android Galaxy8+ which may be better than iPhone (photo-wise). Or I have been thinking about a $400 deal = GoPro. It is 12 Mpix . I am not interested in video, but they say it is easy to cut the frames out of it.
Is there anybody who has experience with it ? I do not do any postprocessing ,so I do not need RAW. 12 meg is nothing to brag about, but not bad either … for me.
Thank you for your input Miro
It won't be any better than your Samsung, just maybe wider angle. I'd save my $400.

Instead, buy a used Fuji X-E2 with the “kit” 18-55 lens. Just over a pound total (is that light enough?) and can be had for $500. It isn’t a little better than your phone plus a GoPro, it’s a LOT better.
Thank you all - it cools me down. Miro
Check out the Campark x30 4k and 20 hp for $99
Check out the new iPhone SE 2020. Pre-orders start tomorrow. $400 to $550, depending on storage capacity. Trade in old iPhone SE, iPhone 6, or later, and save.
If my iPhone 7+ weren't working so well, I'd trade it in. The new SE is a beast. These are just the camera specs:
12MP Wide camera
ƒ/1.8 aperture
Digital zoom up to 5x
Portrait mode with advanced bokeh and Depth Control
Portrait Lighting with six effects (Natural, Studio, Contour, Stage, Stage Mono, High-Key Mono)
Optical image stabilization
Six‑element lens
LED True Tone flash with Slow Sync
Panorama (up to 63MP)
Sapphire crystal lens cover
Autofocus with Focus Pixels
Wide color capture for photos and Live Photos
Next-generation Smart HDR for photos
Advanced red-eye correction
Auto image stabilization
Burst mode
Photo geotagging
Image formats captured: HEIF and JPEG
burkphoto - Oh thank you for the tech details. I am seriously thinking about iPhone after a great fiasco with Android . But those nice models are $1000 which is the same as real camera.
