I posted a couple pictures of a bald eagle in a tree a couple days ago and stated it was kind of boring. I prefer getting more action shots and one thing I like to try and capture is when a bald eagle will suddenly change direction mid flight. usually this is because it spots a fish in the water and quickly turns and starts a dive. Sometimes it can be a false alarm as either there was no fish or a fish it spotted has disappeared from the surface.
These photos are all taken in less than one second as I was shooting with a Sony a9 at 20 frames per second. the directional change happens very quickly. the photos do show an almost ballet quality with the agility in air. Some are not as tack sharp as I would like but acceptable to me. The whole sequence is pretty cool to watch.

One of those times when lighting, subject, camera and photographer all come together at one moment in time. Cherish the thrill.

Great series. I assume you are using the 200-600 with your A9 considering the shots were taken at 500mm. Pretty amazing lens for the price on a pretty amazing body and it looks like you you have it down. Thanks for sharing. Hard to choose a favorite considering they are all great!
