That is an odd looking cat. I looked it up and found that it is also called Sugar Cane midget moth. Apparently, some have been seen feeding on water melon along with a lot of other things but not much on sugar cane.
Cool! The spider would work well with a stack up close on its face. Like a troll in its lair. I was just identifying the cat & got to two genera: Elaphria and Galgula.
