Adding Titles to Multiple Pictures in Photo Gallery

How do I add titles to multiple pictures in the Photo Gallery? I searched several different approaches to no avail. I promise to write it down this time for future reference.

It's confusing, to say the least. Best way I've found:
- Add a photo, write the caption in the box under the photo, click the update button directly under the photo.
- Add the second photo and follow steps as with #1, being sure to click the update button under the relevant photo.
- when finished adding photos and writing captions by following the steps above, write the body of your text in the main area, then - and only then -click SEND to make your topic live.

Lately I've noticed that when you click in the text area (the caption box) for your added images, a box opens underneath with your most recent captions. To select one of them just click on it and it gets copied into the caption box.
(EDIT - that may apply just to Google Chrome and Windows 10).
If you're altering captions that have already been posted, I think you have to update them one at a time. If you edit more than one caption, it keeps only the last caption to be entered. The other new captions get ignored.
