Tiny White Flower

I walked the yard and found these little dots of white scattered about. I plucked on at its stem and brought it in for a focus stacking session. I've learned that when working with fragile little blossoms that time and temperature is of the essence so to extend the "wilt time" I place them in a shot-glass with some ice cubes.

It takes about 15-minutes to produce the stack of images required so the ice does a great job of preserving them. The bad news was that as the ice melted the little flower moved and I had to do the session three times.

Below is a picture of the setup that provides a prospective of the actual size of the tiny flower with respect to the shot glass.

Gary;
For some time I have taken notice of the tiny flowering plants at our feet.
They are little 'gems' waiting to be found. I believe this one is Stellaria media.

Another beautiful flower shot. If you hold the flower in a menu holder and wedge that somehow in the ice bath it may be more stable. Just cushion the stem within the teeth so it doesn't get crushed and break.

Thanks, Brenda. I'm open to all suggestions for there has to be a better way than my attempts.
