There is a shortage of puzzle glue, no one has any. Are there alternatives that you use? I am thinking about trying some Elmers glue because that is available by the gallon. I have plenty of puzzles right now, but only enough glue for maybe 5 of them.
I'm cheap. One tennis ball cut in half serves as a good tool to press Gorilla tape to the back of my puzzles. Then again, I frame the whole set-up and the pieces have nowhere to go. Tear the strips and overlap by about 1/8 inch until the whole puzzle back is covered and then use the tennis ball to rub the tape . The seams of the pieces will be visible from the back, and there is no reason to worry about disturbing the front. It does add bit of weight, though.
