When the sunset is not so powerfull

Sometimes the sunset is not so powerfull and colorfull, but then I like to apply a little bit of Orton effect to give that soft and mood image.

One of the advantages of our northern climes is the occasionally soft light. It just can't be duplicated.

I had to look up the Orton effect. I believe it must be a similar effect to when I take the clarity down, which softens the image without loosing detail, and then sharpen, to pronounce the detail in a more subtle way. Its a look I very much like.

Yes, something like that but applied to some areas, not all the image.

Armando, many images benefit from the soft lighting. Yours is an excellent example. I like this shot and I think it is very beautiful with its very nice visual design.
My only objection are those dark trees. Opening the shadows makes a better photograph by allowing the viewer to see the structures of the trees....with considerably less contrast.
