I just discovered the app. You hold your phone up to a negative, scan it and it produces a positive which you can then retouch, crop etc. then archive on your phone.
I just downloaded it and did a search of UHH and no discussion appeared. Has any one used it? I’m going to get some negs and try it today.

I have been trying to cancel my subscription for over a year but the customer support for this app has been sending me on a wild goose chase, I am being charged monthly for an app that I never used because I was lured in with a free month trial. I’m 35 and very technologically inclined but this is designed to confuse you while they keep charging your card. The app itself is a mess, the film selection is so bad. RUN!!!
This has got to be a joke

After fighting with the app to accept my credit card, I was able to sign up directly through Apple. i was able to sign in (after a 1/2 hour), but none of the movies would play. I went through my internet browser instead ... the movies played, but with no sound. Canceled immediately.

This thing does not recognize my email or password I'm done.
That must be on IOS, because the Google Play Store doesn't have an app by that name for photo negative scanning. It is some horrible Movie app for Android.

I wouldn't send them my credit card number until I had used it for a few days.
"Scanning" a negative requires backlighting, which can be tricky to handle.

They say that you hold the negative up to the pc while it is on a special site designed for providing the backlight.
It gets 4 stars on the App Store for IOS

You seem to be defending a grossly obvious really bogus concept of which you have zero user time. Buy it ... it suits you.

Totally different app. He’s talking about Filmbox, the negative scanning app with 4 stars. Still don’t think I’d trust it. You’re talking about Filmbox Live. A one-and-a-half star movie subscription app.

Yes I see there are two of similar name. I’d like to try it but I’m hesitant. I read a review that said the resulting scans are grainy/noisy. I find it odd that there is no discussion about it before this thread.
BTW, there is another app called photoscan by the same developer that gets five stars.
Update: after reading the reviews I’m going to hold off. There are too many negative reviews. I don’t know how it got 4 stars. There are mostly negative reviews.

If you have Lightroom 6.14 or Lightroom *Classic* CC, get Negative Lab Pro instead. It is the real deal.
Use your iPhone as a backlight... Make a 1920x1080 pixel JPEG with all RGB values set to 255. Put that in Photos on the iPhone. Space the iPhone at least 1.5” behind your negative holder. In Battery, turn off Low Power Mode. Set brightness at maximum and disable Auto Brightness. Set Auto Lock to never. Plug the phone into a charger. Copy your film with a dSLR or mirrorless body and a macro lens.
Import raw files into Lightroom and invoke Negative Lab Pro...
https://www.negativelabpro.com/Free trial. Worth the $99 if you are serious about quality.

It’s not odd at all. You won’t find many mobile app reviews here.
Not everybody here, but many here have invested lots of $$ on gear and they don’t want to give in to the idea that a lowly phone can take good pics. And way too many others think that it is the camera that matters rather than the photographer, they won’t allow themselves to consider the lowly phone as a viable tool. And finally there there are those here that don’t like things to change, they don’t like to learn about new technology or new ways of doing things. As I said not everybody, but many here, fall into one of those categories.

Turning a slide into digital is purely a technical task; it has absolutely nothing to do with skill of the operator. If the OP wants to get one, it is his decision, but I would want to see samples of output from it before spending any money on one.
