As a beginner I am looking for input on this photo. I am shooting a medium format Hasselblad 500cm film camera using the zone system for exposure and studying Ansel Adams books, The Camera. The Negative, and the Print. I was in the White Mountains of NH when I took this image. I appreciate learning on this forum. This is my first photo post. Thanks for any input....Richard

Richard, peace and good health to you. You are on the right road.
Basically looks good.
How did you get it into an electronic form that you can post here?
Joe
P.S. UHH reduces your image size to a pretty small approx. 600 pixel width. Check the box store original when you add an image so we can get a better look at it.

You might be better served to post this kind of request in the Photo Analysis or Photo Critique section. The gallery section is generally just for viewing and moving on, not to say that someone might not throw in a critical type comment or ask for help. Sounds like nice equipment for a beginner! I have almost all of Ansel's books.
Nice image.
Starting off with a Hassy doesn't leave much room for upgrades.
Thanks all for comments. I recently realized that all film negatives are scanned and then printed from scans ,not the negatives . Duh!! So I got the scan and that is how I was able to post photo. I did register for a class at the Bakers Photo Coop in Portland Maine so I could learn to developer negatives and print and to have access to their darkroom facilities but that class got cancelled because of pandemic . I realize that “pushing and pulling” film developing is an important part of creating an image as well as different printing papers and techniques . It is kind of pre-digital post processing that I hope to learn
I love using the Hasselblad and only have one because the film cameras are somewhat affordable now that most are going to digital. Yes , not much room to upgrade nor budget.
Finally I did check rules about posting and thought that one only posts to photo analysis section for specific help with a specific problem. And that the gallery section is open to general critiques and comments. Please correct me if I am in error. Thanks so much all. Be healthy. Peace. Richard

How about a digital Hassy for $45,000?
That would take a serious upgrade to budget. Ha ha
Excellent b&w image. It has already been said but I will repeat it once again, the distribution of tonalities is very good.

As others have mentioned, it is difficult to get a proper understanding of the image without having the original posted. The whites look good here but could be overexposed. But again here, can't really tell without looking at the original. I had a Hasselblad film system but "loaned" it to my nephew and never got it back. Someday, maybe.
