Nice set. Been there, done that!
My son, who was in the Army, got a kick out of this. He say's they're 100% true!

Recently arrived at Tan Son Nhut late summer 1967, I headed to the BoA branch to cash a check. I rounded the corner and encountered a long line waiting to get in the branch. Not sure if this was the right place, I inquired of the last troop in the line, “Is this the line to cash a check?” I asked. His reply was classic. “I don’t know, I just like standing in lines, and found this one.” I chuckled to myself, and slowly walked away.
The only thing missing was hurry up and wait.
Is this post a notice we are about to be drafted, again!

Finished a semester on Jan 20, '68 and woke up at Parris Island on the 29th.
To say it was a rude awakening would be a gross understatement!
Two of my classmates enlisted with me. Seemed like a good idea at the time and I had pretty good duty stations.

I gladly volunteered and specifically asked for infantry.
Yes, I was 1A and a low number but had already decided to go before that.

I had a 2S. My parents were thrilled.
