Sounds like a temporary Price Gouging scheme...reminiscent of the Price Gouging after Hurricane Harvey in 2017.

In The Netherlands it is fairly easy to get to all kind of facilities without the need of a car. The expensive gas and roadtax for normal cars does make you more aware. The situation is different for EV's, no roadtax....

I wish Avation gas would come down, it’s still $4.57 gal in California just filled the plane $100.00😥. It’s my work truck. I’m a aircraft inspector

Gasoline prices are way down here on Big Island of Hawai'i. While driving by the other day in my all electric Leaf I saw $3.89/gallon. Warmed the cockles of my heart.

Speedway near me is $2.15 today. I like Speedway because they do not charge for using credit cards.
