Great camera
Yours shows the 1.4 lens. I think there was also a 1.2? I couldn't do better than the 1.7 at the time but no regrets, it served me well!
Minolta made great cameras back then. Had one too. I also had one of its cousins, the Konica S2 Auto rangefinder which I really liked.

I had one too. Bought it a the Navy Exchange before I left boot camp.
My dad had one of those, and I inherited it when he passed in 1983.
This is how I got into photography and this is the camera that I started taking serious photos with back in 1970 ......great camera! The old Minolta SRT 101
I shot for years with an SRT 100. Loved the built in light meter with the aperture follower in the view finder. Then the batteries became unavailable. My son in law just found the adapter to attach Minolta and Vivitar lenses to his Leica, so after a 20 year rest, the lenses are back in action.

I bought mine in 1970 from the ship's store for about $150. Used it for many years, got it out last year but the lens aperture would not stop down when the shutter was released. Really bummed.

It's in great shape too. Those SLR's were kings back when.

That was my first SLR camera. Had great times with it! Still have an SRT102 and several lenses.
SRT 101 was the best camera I ever owned, 1972, sorry I sold it to buy a Nikon F.
Still have mine. Great camera.
I think a lot of us got some great images with them! And so many it appears, went on to Nikon!
I have one exactly like that.

I still have my SRT101 - bought it while still in high school but don't remember what year (1968-69)
I think yours is "cleaner" than mine - it got a lot of use.
