2020 Summer Olympics In Japan Is Postponed

Prime Minister Abe of Japan, and the International Olympics Committee (IOC), have come to an agreement to postpone the Olympics for one year. One of the agreements, is that it will still be called the 2020 Olympics. Japan had initially invested $12.5 Billion into having it. But some accountants, say it could be upwards to $24 Billion equivalency, after all is added up. Canada and Australia, had already said, it would not send a team this year. That may have had something to do with the decision. And athletes, said they couldn't train as well as they should, while the Coronavirus is still hanging around. Globally.

Maybe the short term. But they still have all the infrastructure they paid to build. And there is still the possibility of having the games in the future.

I lost interest in the Olympics after all the news about steroids and molesting athletes. It's just another big business run to make money. It's a test of which country has the best scientists to produce and hide drugs.

It is sad but necessary. It is especially sad as the Japanese have really upped the game in preparation. I was there last November/December and it seemed as is the preparations were essentially complete!

To me the Olympics lost a lot after the collapse of the USSR. When it was around it was a more interesting battle of good vs evil. Kind of like pro wrestling...
