Remember when Republicans were howling over the non-existent death panels in Obamacare?
Well, here we are. Rationalize this MAGA worshipers.
You are a LIAR. I watched that interview and that is not what he said. He basically said he would prefer his grandchildren live than himself. Do you have grandchildren? Would you prefer that your life be taken instead of one of your grandchildren if you had that choice? I have three grandchildren. If given the choice of me living or my grandchildren living I would choose them all to live over me.
You have stooped to the LOWS represented by Krackhead.

We was NOT just speaking for himself. We was using the plural pronoun which is different that using the singular pronoun--as in we should all be willing to do that. I am astonished at someone who sees himself as the grammar ant typo king of the Attic missed that.
If he had said that "I am willing to sacrifice myself" that would be an entirely different matter, wouldn't it?
And if he is willing to sacrifice himself that is a choice I respect. Suggesting it for others is the new LOW, not my reporting it. And you calling me a liar does not change the facts.
Brush up on your own grammar and language usage before you wag your little finger at anyone else.

And, of course, your thread title does not support your link.

You posted your opinion and it was a lie. You may not admit that but it is right there. The only reason you made the post was to cast a negative shadow on the Lt. Governor of Texas where there should be none. That is why I call you a LIAR. Perhaps calling you what you are, a Left Winger would have been more to the point and covered all bases.

And he speaks for all grandparents? The important question is why he even thinks it should come to this. His argument was clear-open businesses so the young may work, even though it may spread the virus exponentially. As someone commented, he also believes abortion leads to school shootings. There is no end to abject ignorance.

You are correct Amy with respect to your last sentence. The Left is full of ignorance of all types. Trust me-it shows every day.

Grammatically speaking, how can an opinion be a lie, grammar king?
And the Lt Gov of Texas deserves every negative shadow he gets. He said it and I did not make him say it.

It was your opinion that misrepresented what he said. I am done arguing this with you. My OPINION is you are a liar on this point. You will not change my mind nor will anyone else. No I am not lying with my opinion.

consider -
1) in the United States, there is no way that the virus will be contained. Witness New York, New Jersey, etc. (China possibly contained it by extensive tracking/testing/and quarantines.)
2) There is a push going on that the economy is important and needs to be restarted before we lose everything (a push that I can not necessarily disagree with, since we likely have failed to contain this and need to do something)
3) The virus is dangerous enough to effectively turn hospitals into crisis zones.
4) Germany's numbers are impressive - likely due to very high testing we can perhaps see that the true death rate might be around 1/3 of a percent. But I believe that their low death rate has a lot to do with the isolation of those that are contagious. That is, most of their population is not infected.
5) For those doing poor testing, the number infected is likely 10 times or more greater than the number stated.
So, if this country effectively chooses to ride it out - reduce effort to contain it. (And at this point, it will is probably too late to contain it anyway).
1) We will have larger amounts of hot spots
2) Hospitals in the new hot spots will be in crisis mode
3) Hospitals will have their hands full trying to save otherwise healthy people.
4) Older people, sickly people, will not get the attention that they might have been expecting to get.
So...
if you are older and/or sickly, figure out a life style that will keep you isolated, or you will die sooner than you had hoped. And unless they choose to give out sleepy pills, your death will be very painful.
For the older and/or sickly, hope lies in surviving long enough for technology and vaccines and such to come into place. I am not advocating hoarding or such, but think about how (with assistance from family or neighbors) you can survive with minimal interaction.
I expect in few years or so, they will set up clinics and such for old people or already sickly people that are (in theory), safe for the "more vulnerable".
Based on our daily habits - we choose how and when we roll the dice.
Do not think that a normal every-day social interactive life with your family and loved ones will go unpunished.
Just saying.

You are exactly correct. And I agree with him. There are a few people I would rather myself die than them. One because I love them and two because I've had a life they are just beginning. They deserve a shoot also. I think most sane and caring people feel the same.

Gracias amigo. I would choose to have God take my life than that of my grandkids any day if I was given a choice and for the exact reasons you stated. I have had a long and wonderful life full of good/bad, adventure, learning and living. I want that same long life for those I love.
Do I want to die/do I look forward to dying? No absolutely not. I have things left to do, things I love and want to do either over or for the first time. But I have done many things. Life has been good to me and I want it to be good for my grandchildren as well.
