Return of the Green Stink Bug

This is my preserved Green Stink Bug which is one of my favorite insects to use as a model for focus stacking sessions. It provides tones and textures that provide a good reference for calibration and adjustment of settings and to evaluate various experiments with gear and settings.

This experiment was conducted with the 85mm macro lens at 5X with a black felt Do-It-Yourself lens hood to abate reflected and fugitive lighting bouncing back affecting the quality of the shot.

Thanks, Brenda. It is one of my preserved favorites. The primitive eyes remind me of a "face" on its face with its compound eyes as its cheeks.

Thanks, Mark. Of course I've posted images of it before so it is nothing new here however it does provide me a way to evaluate my techniques and gear by comparing a current image against a previous one. Plus it fills another grey cool damp day indoors.

Thanks, I generally post other sessions of the subject using different lenses or lighting techniques in a pursuit of finding what combinations work best.

Thanks, sometimes things happen to come together and I think that this was one of them.
