food for thought

There was once a President, FDR was his name. Some of you may remember him, I know I do. But FDR used to have his "fireside chats" with the American people. These chats helped temper the panic the people of WWII were feeling.

During this Corona pandemic, Donald Trump, our present president appears to be doing the same thing...Which I think is a fantastic idea. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. What is the general consensus.

I’m all for it! I like the man, even with his outspoken side.

I'll just say I'm a lot more impressed with Trump and his conferences than the Democrat leadership tring to use the financial crisis for a permanent assault on freedom and capitalism.

I have been reading about the secrecy the US government imposed on the outbreak of 1918. The things not said created a panic. Newspapers said no problem and dead piling up. President Wilson never uttered one word about the illness. The only smooth side President Trump has is after all the hullabaloo is what he does is usually right.

There is no doubt in my mind that you are right. I can't say I like the man but I voted for him. No other logical choice. And I'll vote for him again. I didn't hire him to be a nice guy. I hired him because I hoped he would do good things for the country, something that I knew the other option wouldn't. He has paid for my vote in spades and I think he will continue to do so for four more years.
I'm just astounded that there is a panic. It's the Flu!

I do agree with everything you say Retired... He, (the Donald) can be verbally vexing at times, but that doesn't diminish his capability of running this country. We, (the American People, have needed this for a long time.)
We also have to vote out (the SWAMP.). And yes, he has my familys vote this November also.
