Went out on a drive this past Sunday to a rural area to keep "my distance" and breathe fresh air. Of course, a few photo ops popped up and I captured them in B&W for a change...lots of old structures and barns in the area.
This scene has several elements I liked and was probably my best image from our drive. First were the rolling, dark clouds over the cabin as the sun was breaking to the west. Second was the pattern of the roof as seen from the interior, through the loft window. Third was the terrific texture of the "logs" themselves as used in the cabin. Finally, the scene just smacked B&W!

Nice scene, and the dl is much better. Have you thought about brightening it some?
Beautiful photo, jederick. Yes, Download is a must and Download(+) for really seeing the details and texture.
Fantastic photo and excellent download, jederick. I really like your b&w treatment.

Thanks for commenting and the suggestion, John...I lightened it some and think it does look better.

Thank you, Cotondog...just posted a lightened copy of this photo, see what you think!!
Nice B&W treatment. The lightened one is fine, but I didn't have a problem with the first edit.
Beautiful B&W. I can see a treasure trove of possibilities here and I'll bet you got more. This one is really nice. I like the original better. It's not supposed to be light with that many dark clouds overhead.
I did the same the other day. Drove around the country side in our area of Iowa looking for old barns.
A really nice image, jederick. Rich with tone and texture.
