Does anyone know how to modify the Canon T3i for astrophotography?
Thanks
There are many YouTube videos that you can watch, or there is this
http://dslrmodifications.com/rebelmod450d1.htmlLet us know how it turns out. Keep in mind that you will need to add a UV/IR filter to cut down on star bloating.
I’ve never attempted, things look a bit small for my eyes and hands.

I'm anti DSLR mod.
I think you need the right tool, for the right job.
A DSLR is designed and built for what? Terra Firma. Pictures on the earth.
Astro cameras are for what? Not portraits, and not landscapes.
The closest camera I know of would be a mirrorless camera. No moving parts flipping around in them, or in Astro Camera's.
Most of the built in features of a DSLR are moot for space imaging.
So rather than try and modify a camera, I lean toward getting the right sort of camera for the application.
PS: I like using an astro camera with a color matrix in it. I get color images that way. Even though I take a lot of Picturds, and get "Rainbow Sprinkles". So my D3300 is stock, but almost never used with my telescope.
But it does take very widefield images.
YMMV
Rob, did we scare you away from trying?
