Probably too broad of a subject, but I may have to cancel a b-day trip I had planned for early June to Spain and Portugal (not very safe anywhere at the moment). Thinking of maybe same time next year to Thailand or Scandinavia (or maybe still Spain). Any other suggestions? Looking for something in the 2-week range. So many choices out there on the travel sites!

Only time will tell if any foreign travel will be safe for months, maybe longer.
Any travel plans one makes today cannot be definite.
Things could change quickly, but for now—plan to stay home.

Yes. It's the ONLY continent where the virus has not yet disappeared. But give it time.
Thanks to the web/internet we have incredible capability to explore travel location options. Think about areas of interest, as you mentioned, and then start doing your research. Map out locations, points of interest, etc. Make notes of hotels, distances and other key planning data points.
Then when we do get the 'okay to go' signals, much of your planning will be done and you have a head start on your trip.
I had planned to go to Ireland for two photo workshops in May that are now on hold, but I have a file of good information for my 2021 (?) trip.
Have fun planning/dreaming of new things to explore.
Yes but you can not get there at the minute as the Argentines will not let the returning boats dock!!!!!so thats out
OR,
just postpone going to Spain and Portugal...

I'd love to go on a photo-specific trip somewhere, but most I've seen are several times more pricey than a standard tourist trip. I've seen trips to Africa that cost more than my gross annual income (as part-time school bus monitor.)

I'm going to keep with Grand European Travel as I've already paid for my trip and since they are currently offering free changes due to the coronavirus situation. I bought my airfare separately, though so even if I cancel my flight I'll have to use the credit before the end of the year...I might go to San Diego to visit my 90-something aunt.

I have a mate who has spent many seasons there as a doctor. I put that same suggestion to him & he put me in the picture. Bugs thrive there as well as anywhere but mostly on humans, in their warm snuggley clothing.

Am I misunderstanding you to mean "has not yet appeared".

We are scheduled for a 12-day Alaska expedition cruise on the Silversea cruise line starting on Sept. 20th. I wonder how that will shake out.
We were supposed to fly to Milan in mid April for a Northern Italy food and wine tour. That will not happen anytime soon. I just hope that things get better for the people in Italy. We will go another time. Stay safe everyone.

I’d wait.......a long time before booking anything.
