I recently purchased on eBay a health smartwatch ( Casio) to use while exercising using my fairly new exercise bike, which has a bluetooth function. The bike`s heartrate function accuracy, to be kind, is way off the mark. Thus, I decided to buy this health watch, which has, among a zillion other functions a bluetooth function. Plan was to use the watch`s bluetooth function to send the heartrate data to the bike's video screen.
The issue: all of the functions must be downloaded from Casio`s website via a smartphone. Cannot do it with a tablet. The watch is compatible with both Android and Apple iOS operating systems. I have no smartphones, but have a Samsung and Apple iPad tablet. I did try both to download. No dice. Please tell me, in simple language if possible, what is the reason downloading from a website via a smartphone is different from doing it with a tablet. I asked the seller who confirmed that one must set up the watch only with a compatible smartphone.

Technology. That's simply the way smartphones and tablets are designed.
Different operating systems.
Our Alexa cannot connect (use) my Galaxy S-III, the phone operating system is too old.
All I can do from my phone is reset Alexa.
