Morning Glory Seed Pod

I sure hope that explorers find Noah's Arc soon with the way its been raining here. I'm not much of a carpenter and I'm not sure if I built one that it would float.

In the meantime to pass another rainy day, I staged a focus stacked session to create this image of one of the long dried Morning Glory seed pod that I use for my studies in textures. I checked the vines along the fence to see if there are any sprouts which there are none yet so it will be awhile before they start to climb the fence.

Thanks, Kpmac. I'm experimenting with some lighting techniques.

Thanks, I'm waiting for the vines to emerge and to start climbing our fence. I enjoy seeing the Morning Glories and how they open in the morning and close in the late afternoon.

Very, very nice! Are you using a "standard" macro lens or do you use some type of special micro lens set up for this type of image?

Thanks for viewing and for asking. This was taken with a standard macro lens at 1:1 ratio due to the size of the subject. It was taken with an 85mm 1X to 5X macro lens set at f/5.6 at 1X (standard for macro magnification).

When I stage smaller subjects or wish to magnify in tight on a specific feature I resort to different arrangements of lenses, lenses in series and reversed and extension accessories.

Thanks, Jeff. I'm experimenting with using my lighting in different ways and this is the result of one of those experiments.
