Hi Guys . I was wondering if anyone on here has personal experience with curved screen wide monitors ?.
I have a three screen set up and have had it for getting on to ten years now and it needs replacing. I was thinking of a wide screen curved unit , not sure which manufacturer, but wonder how good they are for photographic editing and any advice will be appreciated, thanks

My point was that I am already used to having the three screens in a "sort of curve" and so thought to go with something similar . Maybe just a wide screen without the frames I have with the three is going to give me almost the same real estate to work with and probably cheaper. Some advice I've seen is that the curved ones may have distortion to deal with for photographic work. Still undecided but will look in at the suppliers and see what sort of a deal I can get

Never understood the need for a curved monitor unless it's circular 360 degrees panoramic.

I have a 23" and a 24" flat screens, set in an arc, which basically makes each screen perpendicular to my view point when I rotate my head (eyes) to look at them. No room for a third screen.

When I did darkroom work, my prints would curl. Now that I have flat screens I really enjoy not having curled prints.

I have never used one myself so I can't say how effective a curved monitor would be. I wonder how many of the people who have responded so far have spent any significant time using one before passing judgement since no one described their personal experience.

A print dryer did help, but they sometimes still had a slight curve to them.

The print dryer was supposed to reverse the curve so that the photo was on the convex side. It never really worked that way for me.

It seems here in NZ that most of the wider screens are curved anyway as I couldnt find a decent size wide one that wasnt curved on my first venture out to look at them today.

If I use one screen I much rather use a large screen rather than wide. Wide screen lacks height which is useful for working on portrait orientation images and documents. Even surfing the web it's better to use a screen in portrait orientation.

The glossy face had to be on the clean platen. I did matte face down also.
