One more FedEx complaint. Ordered a lens from B&H last Wednesday. 2 day shipping. Sure enough on Friday it was on the FedEx truck out for delivery. Wonderful. It didn't come and they posted late afternoon that I had requested a later delivery (I didn't). Sure enough, Saturday morning it was on the truck out for delivery. Didn't get delivered. I started calling customer service. Got nowhere. Office was closed, so they couldn't contact anyone. Got to a supervisor who filed a complaint for me. Now shows scheduled for delivery Monday. Didn't come. They now show that they tried to deliver but no one was home to accept delivery. (No requirement for signature). I'm back on phone to customer service??? and they now tell me they will check it out and I will get a call that night. I got no call. This morning again listed as on truck out for delivery. I finally got a number for the local office but got shifted back to customer service???. Called back to local and got a promise of a call from Manager. She called back about 12:30, but said she really wasn't in charge of the drivers. She couldn't tell me who was or who I could complain to. She did keep me on hold for about 30 minutes & finally assured my the package would be delivered today.
Lo and behold, the package was delivered at 1:08 p.m. Driver wasted no time getting away before I could talk to him/her.
BTW, the lens is great. Sharp pictures. Looks brand new. Thanks to B&H, but from now on when ordering online, I will know who they will ship with before I place the order. Second problem with FedEx and don't have the patience or enough blood pressure medicine for any more of them.

FedEx, UPS, USPS, I've never had a problem with any of them. Everything has been delivered as advertised. Most recent was yesterday.
I had a similar ordeal with them when ordering a part for a wood stove. The company sending it called FedEx for pick up and shipping. Spent a week being bounced around without resolution. Did get an investigation started a week later and they found it on the truck that picked it up. The driver did not bother to get it off the pick up truck. However, I think the problems are with a few drivers here and there rather than the whole company but FedEx seems to have an internal communication problem. I go brown if there is a choice!
Same thing happen to me when ordering a laptop from Dell. Two weeks of calling and trying to get it delivered. Kept getting "no one home to receive" messages even though I was. Tried to redirect it to work, but they said that was an invalid address (although we receive from FedEx daily). It finally got returned to Dell, and they refunded my money. Lesson learned!

I hate FedEx. 100% of the delivery problems I've had were with FedEx. Often there is no choice, but when there is, I use USPS or UPS.

Do you live in the boonies?
Did you really need the lens in two days after ordering? So long it hasn't been lost, it will arrive eventually. I could never understand how people can be so impatient. If I know I absolutely need something by a certain date, I always order way ahead of time. When it comes to deliveries, you just never know for sure when it actually arrives. Bad weather, trucks breaking down, drivers calling out sick, too many packages out for delivery - their are many things that may cause delay.

Some people aren't happy unless they're unhappy.
If they don't have something to whine, cry, piss and moan about they whine, cry, piss and moan.

That's what I thought, but Henry P responded that you can choose UPS or USPS. I didn't ask, but my guess is that the other options aren't free.
As to the OP's issue, I asked the driver of the FedEx ground in our area why things show 'on truck for delivery' on Saturday but don't get delivered until Monday at the earliest. He said he goes to the depot Saturday morning to load his truck, but doesn't do deliveries on the weekends. It's silly, but now that I know, I know what to expect.

I had the same problem with UPS on the fifth day after it was promised I waited on the deck. He came by the house, turned around and started leaving. I chased him down and got my package. I made him give me ride back to the house while I chewed on him. When I was younger I would've let it go but now I've noticed that I am less tolerant of people and a hell of a lot more grumpy.
I have a shirt that my wife won't let me wear as often as I want to it says 'The More Poeple I Meet the More I Like My Dog.' I wear it every chance I get
I would not have been so upset except for the expectations created by their saying it would be delivered that day. Then the misrepresentations about the delivery. There is really no place on FedEx's website where you can file a complaint. I finally found a way around that and filed one. They told me I would hear back from it "soon." I'm still waiting on that response.

That's not the point. If it was promised in 2 days, they should deliver in 2 days. Fed Ex doesn't even offer an explanation, or just flat out lies. No further discussion is needed. Nothing will ever change since they're unionized. Yes and I was AFL/CIO member (delegate 10) for 30 years.
