Why it's a good idea to pay attention to road signs

While driving to Reno from Carson City yesterday there was an electronic warning sign on the freeway saying, "High Winds. Vehicles over nine feet use the frontage road". Looks like this guy didn't think the sign applied to him.

Or maybe he is the reason they put the warning up.
