Fish eyes.
Something different, some eye shots of my fish. These are as close as I could get, macro or very close to it.

Did you use constant light and a rubber hood?
I want to try some of that kind of shots now that collecting in the streams is prooductive.
Nice shots, almost smell fish frying now.

Hi Bill, I didn't use a constant light but I did have the aquarium light on which wasn't enough. I don't have a rubber hood but as I needed to follow the movement of the fish I think that may have been inhibitive. I worked very close to the glass and had the camera and speedlight + diffuser on a tripod. I used an aperture of around 7.1±, speed of 1/200 and ISO at 200. I think the speedlight is more effective than continuous light with a moving subject as it helps to stop subject movement. To stop that movement at this slowish speed I needed to wait until the fish was more or less at a standstill, near the glass and asking me what I was doing snooping into his home
Reflections of the speedlight can be a problem but overcome by directing it to the ceiling if necessary, other reflections can be stopped by closing curtains etc. I am only just learning to shoot into water - rock pools next
Thank Tom, Bill, Ken, Bob and Mark. I appreciate your input.
I especially like the Angel Fish. Nice capture.

Thanks Ava'sPapa, Angel fish are one of my favourites.
Very nice, Brenda. Quite novel and something not often seen in this way and I suspect not easy to do either with live fish in an aquarium.
