Yesterday got up bright and early and drove the 45 minutes to Valley of Fire to hopefully shoot amazing sunrise with clouds. Well the sun rose and there were clouds but nothing amazing in the sky. So when there isn't what I was going for, I try to make do. Here are a few images from that shoot. Nikon D750, Tamron 24-70mm and 15-30mm, all hand held, post processed in Lightroom. Comments and Critiques welcome.

Great images. Gotta add Valley of Fire to my (long) list. Thanks for sharing.

Nice shots! I was out there in Feb, 2017. It is an amazing place for photos.
Very nice Nevada landscapes in GREAT light, Ray. The sky show, while not over rated, is a by-product of the great light. I learned, while shooting in Nevada, often the best mages at Golden Hour--especially the blue part of it--are behind you, basking in the reflected golden light on the opposite slope from the rising/setting sun. Subtle but dramatic without the extreme contrast.
I have to agee--very nice. I don't know if it's a product of post processing or not, but it looks like you have some gremlins lurking in the clouds.
I love these. Nice, vivid colors. Good job.
