I was using findexif.com to view the camera settings of pictures on here and other web sites but it doesn't seem to work anymore. Does anyone know of an exif viewer that is easy to use or has anyone else experienced problems with findexif.com. Thanks for any help.

When you say "Doesn't work anymore",what do you mean?
Many of the images posted here have the EXIF info removed, for some reason or another.

I have a viewer in my browser (an add-on) and sometimes use Jeffrey's Image Metadata Viewer http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi, but you have to provide the image location if it's on the web.

I use one called EXIF Viewer that is a Chrome extension. I expect there is something similar for pther web browsers.

HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden
The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory.

This is the message I get when I try to open it. It used to work fine.

Thanks longshadow, the viewer you posted works fine for me. I'll just use this one from now on. Many thanks.

Possibly your IP address has been denied access?

(I block access to many "spammers" on my site, using their ISP's whole range, not just a single one. Mostly Russia, Taiwan, Romania, Bulgaria, and other countries... but some US ISPs. For the US ones, it's usually individual companies that have had their server compromised.)

Jeffery’s Image Metadata Viewer posted by Longshadow above, is a popular viewer and free. There a lot of other good info on Jeffery’s web pages. And his photos are definitely worth a look as well.

if you're using a MAC, open the photo using Preview and then select "Show Inspector" from the tools menu - all exif, etc metadata is shown.

Get Irfanview (free) with the plug-ins, and pressing I and/or E with a picture on your screen will get you lots of information.

Open the download. Save it. Go to the save location. Right click. Look at "properties." EXIF will display, if it is present. 20 seconds.

I use EXIF Viewer extension in Firefox (someone mentioned they're using similar in Chrome, which I try not to use because Google already knows too much about me!)
