What matters is the mount the lens is built for, not the manufacturer of the lens.

Presumably it is an F-Mount Tokina. Tokina also makes lenses with other mounts.

If you don't know what mount is the lens call Tokina USA with serial number they should be able to help.

Post a picture of the back of the lens so we can figure out what mount it is.

Just make sure the lens you buy has the same mount as your DSLR Camera, in you case, make sure the Tokina Lens you buy has the Nikon F-mount configuration that matches exactly with your Nikon D7200

Hi Royce, Post a pic of the lens mount (good clear detail shot) and we will figure it out.

What mount is the 80-200? If it's not a Nikon F mount it won't fit and most likely any adapter would not allow you to use the 80-200 at infinity.

More info is needed...

Tokina has made at least two different 80-200mm... an older, manual focus version and a more modern autofocus version.

They have also offered it in a variety of different lens mounts.

In general, if it's a Nikon F-mount lens (either version), it should be usable on a D7200.

However if it's virtually any other bayonet mount, it's unlikely to be usable on a Nikon camera. Nikon F-mount uses one of the longest "lens regiseter" (AKA, flange-to-film/sensor focus distance): 46mm. Because of this, F-mount lenses are pretty easily adapted for use on many other brands of cameras... but other brands of lenses are difficult or impractical to adapt for use on Nikon F-mount cameras. In particular, a modern, electronically controlled, autofocus version is likely to be impossible to adapt. It will use entirely different circuitry from what Nikon uses, so none of the lens' functions would work.

There may be a designation somewhere on the lens, indicating what mount it's designed to work with. That's the case with many third party lenses. But, even if there's no indication, we might be able to tell what it fits from a photo of the lens' bayonet mount.

Right on adapters.
Easily adapt Nikon F mount lenses on Canon FD type cameras as well as Canon EF, EFs and M mounts with no glass in the adapter and get infinity focus.
Retired my F and used the F mount lenses on my Canon cameras.
