Sandhill Crane

The Sandhill Crane landed in the front yard yesterday and stayed there almost all day. He was taking advantage of the food situation to eat, drink and rest. He finally flew away when a little yappy dog spotted him. I used my Panasonic Lumix.DMC-ZS100. Not too bad, but I didn't get a good focus. I was afraid to take the time to adjust the focus as he might spook and fly away. This was one of those "I can't believe my luck" moments.

Thank you Carol. I was lucky he didn't spook. I think he was tired and looking for his mate to meet him. He finally got run off by the neighborhood Jack Russel who was on patrol.
