Here is part 2 of 3 of our recent weekend in Carmel (part 1 was posted yesterday). On October 12, 1997 John Denver was killed flying his airplane near Point Pinos in Monterey Bay and there is a memorial plaque nearby. Photos 3 and 4 are of an informal memorial in the same area, that in spite of the many times we’ve been to this coastline, we had never noticed.
All photos were taken with my new Canon G5X MK II “travel camera.” I'll post the final set tomorrow. All photos were shot in RAW and post processed in Lightroom. The photos are best when downloaded.
Beautiful sunset, love seeing the seagulls -- we don't have them here in Hawaii. Mahalo for sharing.

A superb set of beautiful captures, DJ. I'm partial to seagulls and love seascapes. It's been ages since I was at Carmel but it's beauty is indeleble.

Thank you JoAnne! I've got to sort through my sunrise and sunset photos from Oahu and Kauai and post some of them. We were in Oahu not quite two years ago and again in July of last year, and Kauai in July/August and December of last year as well. We love Hawaii and have a timeshare in Kauai. Life has been busy, so I haven't been posting too much. No seagulls, but there are plenty of chickens in Kauai.

I'm glad you enjoyed my photos and thanks for commenting. Carmel and Pacific Grove are very special and we are fortunate to be just a little over two hours away.

Nice Sunset
Thank you Jim. The sky was amazing and I'm glad I was there to capture it.
I appreciate the comment and thumbs up, especially considering the source. I never tire of going to the Monterey Peninsula, one of the benefits of living in the Bay Area.
Nice pictures, especially the sunsets

Proof again that it is not the camera, but who is behind it, that produces great shots.
