I have been using Paint Shop Pro for many years and therefore, am primarily only familiar with it. Since I was having a little problem with PSP 2018 locking up when I tried to perform a certain image delete maneuver, I upgraded to PSP 2020. I discovered that I have the same problem with PSP 2020. After many contacts and trials with Corel about the problem, they are still working on it. After following their directions to try to correct the problem, these efforts have apparently led to further problems with my computer, turning many parts of my screen including icons yellow, whenever the PSP 2018 or PSP 2020 is started.

I would appreciate any comments that you would have on Paint Shop Pro.

What is the "certain image delete maneuver"?

I'm an Adobe subscription addict. My wife, probably a better photographer, loves Paint Shop Pro and will be updating it for a new computer soon.

I can delete images in a folder as long as there are more than two using the "Quick Review" selection by right-clicking the image and then pressing the "trash can" symbol at the bottom of the page, but when there are only two and I try this, it appears that it deletes but then I find out that it did not delete. Trying to delete it again locks up the program. I don't know if this always happens or just happens sometimes. As I indicated above, it is now "messing up" my computer when I open the program, so I basically can't try it anymore with the fear that it will further compromise my computer. I am waiting on further guidance from Corel but they are so slow. I wish now that I had just lived with the problem - I could have deleted the images with another program.

If it is like other photo software, deleting inside and outside of the program will screw up the links necessary to keep track of what is on your computer and not.

When you get down to 2, try deleting them outside of the program and see what happens. I have had PSP since before Corel bought it, and have 2020. I have never uncounted this issue.

Is it the same files that don't delete?

I have not observed this to be the case. Since I use the Windows structure, I think that I have been able to delete images with numerous different photo programs without any problems. I do not use Photoshop or any subscription programs, however.

I too have been using PSP since it was Jasco. I would be doing what you suggest, but as I mentioned earlier, I am not opening or doing anything else with the program until I get further directions from Corel due to the fear of further "screwing up my computer" as I outlined earlier. Yes, I was intentionally using the same files to repeat the problem since I knew that those files were involved in the problem.

That is why I would delete those files. The problem could be with them and not PSP.
If it was the program and not the files, it shouldn't have carried over from the older version.

If you delete them through IE, I would then delete and reinstall PSP.

I used to use PSP since my first digital photo editing was done in the photo app in Corel Draw (I had it to produce visuals etc for use in my history classes.) Before I switched over to Adobe (starting with Light Room 5, then 6, then the subscription LR/PS etc package) I never had any problems like that.

Are you using After Shot 3 as your main file control app or just trying to do everything in PSP?
PSP and AfterShot are designed to work together as a team just like LR/PS are. AS/LR are file management apps with some editing and PSP/PS are the full on editing with a little file management. The sequence is supposed to be: import from camera memory card in AS/LR and organize your files through those programs. Do some editing there but send files to PSP/PS for the full on editing and then save back to AS/LR for filing again. Printing can be done from either program but I prefer to do mine from the file management app - for me now this is LR, formerly AS. I export images for posting etc from the file management app.
Since I use a Canon Pro-100 I also have Canon "Print Studio Pro" as my preferred print app - currently the latest version of Print Shop Pro and LR/PS don't play well together so I make do with Adobe's printer control apps while waiting for the two companies to get them playing together again.

I did just what you suggested (in addition to deleting PSP 2018 ). Upon starting PSP 2020, I still have the same problem of about half the things on the screen, plus the icons, turning yellow. Even shutting the program down does not get rid of the yellow, requiring a restart to get rid of the yellow. The problems I have had have apparently compromised the computer. I therefore can not use PSP 2020. I am waiting for Corel to respond.

So, you didn't reinstall 2020 after deleting what might have been the problem files.
Let us know Corel's solution, it should be interesting.

Good luck!

Yes, I did reinstall 2020 after deleting the files - just as you directed.

I've been trying to use Google to find some answers. There seems to be a bit of chatter that the issue was caused by a Windows update. There was one reference to the Windows update changed some PSP color management settings. I couldn't nail down anything specific.

Did you uninstall 2020 or reinstall over what was there?

No, I do not use After Shot 3. I do my file management with Windows Explorer. When you speak of Photoshop and Lightroom, you are way above me. I import or download directly from my camera into Windows Explorer. I usually have Walmart or Walgreens do my printing. I export images for posting directly from Windows Explorer. Thank you so much for your help and input.

Yes, I received a Windows update at that time and have also had concerns about it. As I indicated, I followed your suggestions exactly as directed - uninstall 2020 (as well as my copy of 2018), deleted the images that were involved, and reinstalled 2020 with the same yellow color problems. I appreciate so much your assistance with this. If you learn any more about this Windows update problem, please let me know.
