This is my preserved green scarab that I staged for a focus stacking session for experimentation with the new camera lens and how to arrange illumination and diffusion of the lighting for it. Although technically the same as I have been doing in the past with the setup that I have shared here many times, this is different in that it is a single lens with a much further working distance than I am accustomed to. Practice...practice...practice.
As always, thanks in advance to all who view and for your comments, suggestions, questions and critique.

I have heard that practice makes perfect. Too many times.
But, there you go proving that old addage.
Again, even tho I know my way around a beetle body, I always enjoy your efforts.
Beautiful sunny weather here, until you step outside. COLD.
March is doing it's best to prove another addage. Let's hope it gets the lamb part right, too.
Collecting been fair. Many small under bark dwellers from some newly fallen dead trees.
Enjoy your morning, Gary. Just a couple more weeks till spring.

Thanks, Bill. I believe that this Fig Beetle is from your collection for which I am forever grateful. It looks like we should be in for a nice day here today with the sun out and just long sleeve temperature so far this morning...although living in the peak of the curve of the jet stream is the true rollercoaster ride.

Thanks, I recycle my preserved subjects so like actors on the Silver Screen we will see them many times appearing in different roles. When Spring arrives I'll be able to add to my collection so hopefully there will be some new rising stars among them
Thanks for the feedback, Don.
