Monterey Bay from Pacific Grove - Part 1

My wife and I spent the weekend before last in Carmel. It was a beautiful weekend that felt like spring. We get to the Monterey Peninsula several times a year and always spend some time at the water, usually in Pacific Grove at Asilomar State Beach between Carmel and Monterey. I brought my new Canon G5X Mk II "travel camera" (that I got three weeks ago) with me and left the 80D at home. I am very happy with the results I'm getting with the G5X, especially when you consider that the camera will fit in a shirt pocket (and it has a pop-up viewfinder in addition to a large tilt screen). I hope you enjoy these photos. I'll post some more tomorrow and Sunday. All photos were shot in RAW and post processed in Lightroom. The photos are best when downloaded.

Almost as good as being there, Dennis. Miss the ocean and this reminds me of how much! Great set.

Beautiful set, Don! I lived in Pacific Grove for the summer of '64 while I was at the Defense Language Institute.

Thank you Mike. I consider it a great compliment that you like them. We are fortunate to live about two hours from Pacific Grove and we get there several time a year. Another one of my "happy places" is Laguna Seca Raceway, just a few miles away. I'm working my way through post processing several hundred images from two race weekends there in September.
