Siena, with day trips to Chianti area, SanGimgnao, Montepulciano, Arezzo, Pienza, San Quirco d'Orcia. Perugia and Assisi. Orvietto and Spoleto. And finally Rome.
We have tour through the Vatican, Accademia, Duomo in Florence and a number more.
What photos do I not want to miss taking.
Thanks

If you are a photographer, then triple the number of shots you might normally take per day on a European vacation.
I returned from a trip of 5 weeks in Cinque Terre, Tuscany area, and Venice and returned with 11,900 images. We rented a car and stayed in local B&Bs for a week at a time. Our hosts made suggestions for things to see and do and we saw things that we never would have otherwise. I loved every minute and cannot wait to go back!
I plan at least another two prolonged six week trips to Italy and still don't expect to see more than a third of what's worth seeing.
You are taking a real whirl wind tour with a day in places I spent a week.
You will have a blast if you are on your own. If on a tour, you are at the mercy of their schedule and pre-arranged opportunities.
But you will have a blast and photos will literally just fall in front of you.
Beware of the Stendhal syndrome.
Have plenty of batteries and SD cards.
I became a real fan of Rick Steves while there. Especially for food.
It's a photographers' playground and sometimes a very crowded one.
Would you mind picking up my monopod left at the Vatican.

If you get the chance and have the time, a day trip to the island of Capri can be a lot of fun and there are some great photo opportunities there!

Have 5@4GBcards plus 4@8GB cards plus 1@16GB back up. Somewhere around 36,000 shots in RAW
Considering the current USD-EUR exchange rate, can one buy a bogen tripod cheaper over there? I have a gitzo tripod. A little heavier and I wouldn't mind picking up a carbon fiber tripod so if I could score a bogen on the cheap over there then I won't even pack mine.
Photos of the Almafi coast, island of Capri and a boat tour around it.
Oh! and if in the area, a few hours at the ruins of Pompei
Did Italy. Loved it, great opportunities everywhere. Best favourite was Burano, just stunning BUT very hard to make MY pics unique. Enjoy enjoy>

Hi Jim S,
I've 'done' Italy a few times and it has to be one of my favourite places.
Venice: You must do the obligatory shots of Gondalas, St Marco's Square, Rialto Bridge, Bridge of Sighs (Sp?), but you only have to slip away off the tourist track to discover the real Venice. Don't worry about getting lost, you're never far away from a landmark you'll recognise.
Florence: Once you visited the Duomo, the Uffizzi Gallery etc. I didn't find it had much else to offer off the beaten track.
Sienna: By contrast to Florence I loved this town. It's very compact and photogenic.
Pisa: Yes, it has a leaning tower and, frankly, little else.
Rome: Love it. It's very much like London, everytime you turn a corner you come across something else from the history books. You'll find photography severely restricted in the Vatican, which is a shame.
From looking at your itinerary you won't be going far enough south to hit the Amalfi Coast and the Bay of Naples, so I'll skip that part.

Rarely cheaper, especially after VAT and exchange rates. Buy here and retain your warranty and option to return it if there is a problem.

Impossible to avoid (unless you are confined to a tour bus).
Stendhal syndrome is part of the Italian experience; relish it!

It's amazing people who live there tolerate this problem. :D
