Delphinium macros

These are Delphinium hybrid blossoms. There are something like 300 species worldwide, and they have been cultivated and grown in gardens for 500 years. The two species most common in gardens are native to Europe and Asia. They are from Ranunculaceae - the Buttercup family.

The Raynox 250 magnifier let me get a little more magnification than 1:1.
