Ok some of you have started to act liker spoiled bratty children. If you don't like something move on, don't try and get into a contest over who or what is better. Everyone has their opinion about everything, so respect their opinion and they will respect yours. As far as religion goes I am non-denominational and do not attend an organized church, which by the way I find most attendees a little on the snobbish side.

The priest, pastor, rabbi etc. are relaying to the congregation their interpretation of the book of the Lord. Anyone can read the Book of the Lord (commonly referred to as the Bible) and make their own interpretation. There is nothing wrong with your interpretation or a religious leaders interpretation. You as an individual have to decide what you want to believe.

or those that had a problem with this Joke, don't listen to Jack Benny and Rochester, Bob Hope, Red skeleton, Soupy Sales or any of the other comedians from the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's, you will be pulling your hair out if you have any for the un-political correctness of their comedy forum.

How right you are. I especially agree with your reference to comedians of the past. I grew up in the 50s and 60s loved most of the comics of that era. Did not care for Don Rickles that was mentioned in an earlier post, but others made me laugh so hard and still do when I see or hear one of their routines.

I do not go along with the political correctness of today. People’s skin is just too thin. They need to come to the realization that I can not control their emotions for them!

I have to disagree with you on a couple of the points you make.

1. Where did the joke say the atheist didn't have value?

2. What divisive prejudices does this joke conjure up? No where did it say a Christian is better than an Atheist. I am certainly not prejudice toward someone of a different religion... we are all free to believe what we want, regardless what that belief is.

3. I have heard and listened to many Italian jokes in my lifetime. It certainly has not cause any damage or hurt to me.

4. Jokes like this are not what has caused the country to be divided either. I won't get into that subject, or this will surely find its way into the attic.

IMHO, PC, (Political Correctness) has gone to far. As others have said, its got to the point where you can't say anything without fear of being called insensitive, politically incorrect, offensive, and who knows what else. Lighten up a little, relax, have fun, enjoy life while you can.

True words and a good philosophy. It reminds me of the book I am reading titled "In Justice." Basically, a man has used various influences to initiate a new part of the US government, The Diversity and Tolerance Enforcement Division. The purpose, to enforce the tolerance of all diversity and disallow any comments which could be construed as "hate speech" against any minority group. Any comments made in public that may be taken as in opposition any group, such as gays, atheists, races, can be prosecuted and the person or organization incarcerated, all assets seized, by the government.

A fictitious prediction of the results of overly zealous supporters of Political Correctness?

I have seen a variant on several church bulletin boards.

In one pen of the Coliseum, ragged-dressed Christians are praying to receive a Christian lion.

In the adjoining pen, the lions are praying for the ‘food we are about to receive’.

7 pages to do what?
Evaluate a joke on whatever criteria one has?

A joke works or will work only by the unexpected or shocking end of it. Morality, point of view of what the hell one thinks makes a good joke or not.

Here is one offensive only to stupid people...

A guy from Belgium wanted to go the UK. He dreamed of going there. At long last he could. He, his wife and his teenager kids piled into the family car, all looking forward to the trip.

They returned the same day, everyone in the car was yelling at each other on the way back.

The reason? At the french border he saw the sign: "PAS DE CALAIS" and made a U-turn.

Now that is mean to the lions. I am sorry but what did those god fearing gentle beasts do to god to get such lean unpleasant whimpering food???

Did they not already refuse to eat one such meal before?
