Roseate Spoonbill: Perfect Form - Tips up

This beautiful spoonbill came cruising by and I was fortunate to get a shot with its wing tips up.I have read that most passenger jets now employ "winglets" at wing's end to decrease turbulence and increase efficiency. I think birds who do this came up with the idea before Boeing.

Outstanding, that's probably the best spoonbill flying photo I've ever seen, super sharp focus! You are correct about the winglets too, they reduce the drag created at the wing tip.

Thank you. I read an article about “winglets”.... how good they were on Boeing’s Max, their problem child. So unfortunate.
